Carnegie Center Presents "It’s All Relative(s): Works by Families of Artists" Exhibit

Opening Reception Friday May 30, 6:00-8:00 pm

The Carnegie Center for Art & History in New Albany, Indiana is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibit, "It’s All Relative(s): Works by Families of Artists." The exhibit will be on display at the Carnegie Center May 30 through July 12 and features the work of local and regional families of artists. Husbands and wives, parents and children, siblings-their work could not be better proof that art really is in the blood.

The artists included in this exhibit are:

  • Cora and Carrie Neumayer
  • Joseph and Tamara Fitzpatrick
  • Amy DeLap and Andrew Jendrzejewski
  • Nancy and Robin Randall
  • Mark, Daina, David and Dan Selter
  • Judith, Marybeth and Jennifer Carrico
  • John, Marilyn and Ben Whitesell
  • James, Kay Polson and Alexander Grubola
  • Martin and Cynthia Rollins Family

There will be a National City Gallery Nights opening reception for this exhibit on Friday, May 30 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. This family-friendly event will feature live jazz by the Jamey Aebersold Quartet, cookout fare on the Center’s front lawn, and a picture frame decorating activity including family photos taken on the spot. Great jazz, a picnic atmosphere, an art activity fun for all ages, and a chance to meet the artists featured in the exhibit-it’s all happening at the Carnegie Center. This event is free and the public is invited to attend.

The Carnegie Center for Art and History, a department of the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library, is a contemporary art gallery and history museum that offers a full schedule of changing exhibitions as well as year-round art classes and other educational programs. On permanent display is Grandpa Makes a Scene: The Yenawine Dioramas, a hand-carved, animated display of life in turn of the century Indiana. The Carnegie Center is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 am-5:30pm, and is located at 201 East Spring Street in historic downtown New Albany, Indiana. Admission is free.
