Below is the schedule for our Exhibitions, and Family Fun and Lunch and Learn programs for 2017/18. Click the program that you want more information on and the link will take you to the event’s page. More information will be added to this page as it becomes available.
December 19…Jazz Master: My Life In Music: Jamey Aebersold presents on his life and experiences in the music world. Holiday refreshments will be served in the Jane Barth Anderson Meeting Room. No RSVP’s required.
December 28…Jam with a Jazz Legend: Drop-in workshop for musicians who would like to learn from NEA Jazz Master Jamey Aebersold about the fine points of improvisation. Bring your instruments, open to all skill levels. No RSVP’s required.
February 3, 2018…Mix & Mingle: Last day of the exhibit, light refreshments will be served.
December 27…Winter Break Acrylic Workshop: Artist Kayla Bischoff will teach young artists 12 to 18 years of age the process of painting in acrylics and improvising a composition based upon a still life created with jazz instruments. Registration is required, and limited to 15 students. There will be a $20 fee, but all supplies will be provided.
January 27, 2018…Adult Acrylic Workshop: Artist Kayla Bischoff will teach novice adult learners who want to improve their skills painting with acrylics. Registration is required, and limited to 15 students. There will be a $20 fee, but all supplies will be provided.
December 8, 2017 – February 3, 2018 : Jamey Aebersold: An Improvised Life. Opening Reception: Friday, December 8, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
February 16 – April 21, 2018 : “The Sixties – Turn on, Tune in, Drop out!” New work by Penny Sisto. Opening Reception: Friday, February 16, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
April 28 – May 12, 2018: Floyd County Secondary Schools Art Show & Competition. Awards presentation and reception: Thursday- May 10, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
May 25, – July 21, 2018 : Form, Not Function: Quilt Art at the Carnegie. Opening Reception: Friday, May 25, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
August 3 – September 22, 2018 : Aberlyn Sweetland-May, Rebeka Trapp, & Katy Traughber. Opening Reception: Friday, August 3, 2018
September, 2018: New Albany Public Art Project. New Albany Riverfront Amphitheater
October 5 – December 1, 2018 : Nathaniel Donnett & Vadis Turner. Opening Reception: Friday, October 5, 2018
December 14 – February 9, 2019 : Biophilia Life; or, My Best Friend Has Four Legs and a Tail. Opening Reception: Friday, December 14, 2018
Family Fun Workshops are free to the public, however, pre-registration is appreciated. Age ranges of children are 2 to 12 years of age. A parent or guardian must accompany children.
Workshop hours are 10:00 am till 12:00 pm. We ask that families arrive by at least 11:30 to have enough time to do the activity. Typically, the Carnegie Center supplies all materials, but occasionally families are asked to bring an item.

Lunch and Learn:
Join us the third Tuesday of the month from January to November for a free program on topics of cultural interest from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Reservations are required and can be made by emailing Delesha Thomas at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling the Carnegie Center for Art and History at 812-944-7336.
