Learn How to “Play-A-Long” from NEA Jazz Legend, Jamey Aebersold
Jamey had so much fun at the first jam session, he decided to host two more clinics! The next one is scheduled for Saturday, January 13 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. This is different from the drop-in workshop. Instead, these clinics are for aspiring players to improve their musicianship and learn how to play and improvise with jazz.
Aebersold is best known for his “Play-A-Longs” which he created in 1967 with the original title, “A New Approach to Jazz Improvisation.” The “Play-A-Longs” have grown to 133 volumes and supplemental books and CDs that Aebersold has successfully marketed globally. Selling more than 5 million “Play-A-Longs” worldwide created a 50 year career in music education and publishing.
For over 40 years, Aebersold has directed the Summer Jazz Workshops throughout the country and across the globe in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, England, Scotland, Denmark and Canada. This two hour event is a mere taste of what it’s like to participate in his week-long camp.
Bring your instruments and music stands, and Jamey will supply the instructional materials! Open to all skill levels. No RSVP required.
