Sally Korte and Alice Strebel are indeed kindred spirits. Kindred Spirits was formed in 1986 when the two friends began publishing patterns and books featuring embellished clothing, primitive stitcheries, whimsical dolls, quilts and other folk art pieces designed with a charmingly "naive" look.

Kindred Spirits' designs have been featured in numerous national publications and the company enjoys the reputation of being unique and original. The influence resulting from the popularity of their design style can be seen across the country.

Sally and Alice are involved in lecturing and teaching nationally as well as internationally and they like to consider themselves motivational speakers on the topic of personal creativity.
